About

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was an Indian nationalist, Jurist, Political leader, and a revivalist. Babasaheb spent his whole life fighting against social discrimination and achieved quality of life for masses. He is also credited with having sparked the down trodden movement and has been honored with the ‘Bharat Ratna’ India’s highest civilian award.
Babasaheb is also the chief Architect of the Indian Constitution and Internationally known personality for his Education, Knowledge, Thoughts, Books, and as a greatest achiever for the society. Therefore there is need to continue his life ideology for the quality of life of the society to reform it in broader sense of compassion, brotherhood, equality and humanity.

Need of Project

There is extreme Need to improve ‘Quality of life’ of masses in India as inspite of government’s developmental policies and Govt. Departments working from years to improve it but still Backward class and masses facing problems for getting Human Rights, Social Security, Economic stability, Dignity etc.
To fulfill the same needs government of India Established ‘Dr. Ambedkar Foundation’ at Delhi, under the aegis of Ministry of Welfare (now Ministry of social justice and Empowerment) on March, 24, 1992, which is the only National level Foundation in India to carry out the programs and activities for furthering of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideology and spread his massage of social justice to the masses not only in the country but also abroad.

Therefore “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Convention Centre” is proposed to link with National level Dr. Ambedkar Foundation on state level as a parallel centre to work on same ideology of Dr. Ambedkar in Nagpur, which is Geographical Centre of India and Most Important Place of Babahaseb’s Movement in India for equality, brotherhood, Human rights, Quality of life etc.

Location Advantages

Nagpur is a city in the central part of India. In Maharashtra State. Left side is the map of Maharashtra State shows the position of Nagpur City. Nagpur District is located between 21*45 N to 20*30 N and 78*15 E to 79*45 E, which essentially indicates that Nagpur district, is located in the Deccan Plateau. The adjoining districts are Bhandara on the East, Chandrapur on the South, Amravati and Wardha on the west and in the North shares the boundary with Madhya Pradesh.

Nagpur is located at the exact centre of the Indian Peninsula. The City has a Zero Mile Stone locating geographical Centre of India. All major highways NH7 (Varanasi – Kanyakumari) & NH -6 (Mumbai –Sambalpur – Calcutta) and major railways trunk route (Mumbai, Chennai, Howrah* Delhi) pass through the city. Important Central & State Government offices and institutions are located in Nagpur. Industrial Development exists along the fringe areas like Kamptee, Hingna, Wadi, Khapri, Butibori and Kalmeshwar.

Nagpur is the largest city in Central India and the sub capital of the State of Maharashtra. It is a last growing Metropolis and is the third most populous city in Maharashtra after Mumbai and Pune, and also one of the country’s most industrials cities. Nagpur is the 13th most populous city and 13th largest urban agglomeration in India.

• Nagpur is the seat of the annual winter session of the Maharashtra State assembly,“Vidhan Sabha”. It is major commercial and political centre of the Vidarbha Region of Maharashtra.

• According to a survey by ABP News – IPOs, Nagpur has been identified as the best city in India by topping the livability, greenery, and public transport and health case indices.

• Government of India selected Nagpur as a model city for National clear Air Mission by allocating 25 cores for the plan.

• Nagpur is known for its greenery and was adjudged the clearest and second greenest in India after Chandigarh in 2010.

• Nagpur is famous for the Nagpur Orange and known as the “Orange City”.

As of 2011 Census, Nagpur Municipality had a population of 25, 23,911. The Municipality had a Sex Ratio of 961 females per 1000 males and 9.9 % of the population was under six years old. Effective literacy was 93.13 %; Male literacy was 96.16 % and female literacy was 89.99 %.

• The Proposed Project is located on corner junction of NH7 i.e. KAMPTEE ROAD and Lal Godown road. Location is the NORTH ZONE of Nagpur City.

• The site admeasuring 7500 Sq.m Area with 93.5 m. length on North & South side and 81.00 m. on East and West side.

• The Roads on South side is 36 m. wide which is Kamptee Road and on East side is 24 m. wide which is Lal Godown Road.

• Intercity & Intracity Traffic is well connected by National Highways and other Major Roads i.e. NH7, NH6, NH69 and outer Ring road.
